Sixteen Frames to offer video streaming services

Sixteen Frames Software, a start-up based in Hyderabad with a centre in the US, has developed video streaming technology that is offered as a service and as on-demand service.

The Chief Executive Officer of Sixteen Frames, Mr Chowdary L. Potluri, said the company evolved from a simple idea that Web-casting and streaming business is a big opportunity.

“It all started about two years ago when we could not travel to India to attend a family wedding. When we wanted a facility that would help us watch the wedding from the US, all our efforts were in vain.

“This led us to create a team and develop a buffering technology that compresses video files and sends them in small packets over the Web,” he explained.

Addressing a press conference here late on Friday, Mr Chowdary said by providing both software and hardware, the company would enable people to Web-cast live and offer on demand live videos of events over the Internet.

These services complement photo and video editing, sharing, printing and shipping services.

There is demand from private individuals and also from corporate entities when they hold annual meetings.
